I'm taking a short break between one editing job and the next.

Yesterday some men took some trees down in our yard. They had special ropes and belts so they could safely go up high--I could see them w-a-y up there. It was kind of scary looking at them up there, but breathtaking, too. If you don't mind going up high and you like being outdoors and working with trees and things, what a great job it would be to be an arborist and a tree-work person.

Now there's lots of branches everywhere. If I had world enough and time, I would make a wattle fence--something I've talked about with grayheyes.

(Here's a wattle fence)

(and here are some people making one)

The tree-men's ropes trailing behind them were like the silk that spiders let out when they're making their webs, but the men weren't like spiders. They were more like acrobats who were also engineers (maybe that's what spiders are, too, but spiders conjure up a spiderish image, and those guys just weren't spiderish).

It reminds me that I'd like to live in a treehouse for a while. In some parts of Indonesia, they really do:

Someone in Mississippi built a gorgeous treehouse, and then the town wanted it taken down, but they fought it all the way to the supreme court. An interesting story, and many interesting treehouses to look at,here

The trees in our backyard are always breaking about 20 feet up their trunks... not too encouraging for treehouse making.

But I'm going to get out a book on treehouse making, all the same, just to look at the photos.

Wow--I found a Green-sky site (actually, Kerala, India), here!
