blossoms

It was the scent of these that drew me. (ETA: I haven't checked what sort they are yet.)

Do they smell lemon-y? I've been running in the morning lately and smelling a new smell and these are the only new flowers! I scoped the name of tree (on a sign by one!) and if they are the same tree, the are a White Fringe Tree.

Wait, I'm wrong. Fringe Trees are different! ;)

I think they're some type of wild cherry, maybe? Not sure.

The blossoms say apple but the bark says cherry-- I'd bet on cherry.

Not sure; I have my tree book, but I haven't checked. I would guess some kind of wild cherry.

I'm not sure! Maybe a kind of wild cherry. But I would need to check.

Ah! How lovely!

The wind's been so wild, so cold here, it's stolen all the spring scents - even the bluebell woods are scentless.

What a shame! But still *looking* beautiful, I see.

Spectacularly pretty. When are we going to get a strike-and-smell key on our laptops for when we visit the forrest and environs?

It's a good thing that some things remain uncapturable. Though I'm sure there are people working on it...

Those are wonderful. I love it when my nose leads me to something I might not have noticed otherwise in the general blooming. It's a bit too cold here for smell to work properly, but next week should be better. We have a lot of plum and cherries blooming, and the crabapples are starting up. And the lilacs, which is frankly weird, as they used to bloom around Memorial Day.

Yeah, we have lilacs budding too--still just budding, but yes, I associate them with late May.

They looked to me like cherry. Very pretty.

I think some sort of cherry is the consensus!
