joyful, joyful

It's an apartment near where I live. It's a dreary boring apartment by day, transformed into an ethereal creation of pure light at night. This photo DOES NOT capture it. Where you see white blare, like a loud trumpet, in real life is all lacy "icicle" lights. And where you see blobs of color, in reality there are sparkling stars of color. It looks like the spaceships in Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Tonight I also saw a shooting star.

And look what I have to read (SO lucky)

Wren to the Rescue which is great so far, and which I'm sharing with the healing angel, who discovered it in my study and started reading it, too.
Chapter 6 of The Eye of the Maker, a magnificently complex work; a complete world (well--as far as I can tell from chapters 1-5)
and... The Loyal Sword, which I am *sooo* excited about.

I am so happy! (which is funny, because now my iTunes is on the next song, which is Sheryl Crow singing "If it makes you happy")

The feeling is very mutual, Deponti! I think of you so often ♥

At first glance at that apartment I thought it was on fire!! I love to go out driving and look at Christmas lights.

LOL--I know what you mean. If only I had the ability to capture what it really looks like. Just imagine tons and tons of spangled, colored lights, and then white icicle lights up top. I had to put the picture in for the record, but it's not like the real thing at all...

I love icicle lights! And tiny lights in trees, too.

Me too, they really do make a building look so ethereal. Really pretty!

Whoever thought up those icicle lights should get a "Christmas upgrade" award. Those things really trim out a roof in a beautiful way. But isn't icicle a funny word, going with the ici instead of the ice? And how does cle make cul? Who decides these things?

I couldn't agree more--the first time I ever saw them (and I remember it clearly; it was when we came back from 15 months of living with my in-laws in England), I was enchanted.

And you're asking about English spelling? The folks that bring you enough, pronounced ee-nuff (or uh-nuff, depending on where you're from)? And sleigh, pronounced slay? I remember seeing that you can spell "fish" "ghoti"--gh as in enough, ti as in "initiation," and I forget about the o...

Lovely to be in the midst of a festive joyful season!

We in India, are lucky that our festival of lights, Deepavali falls sometime in end October to November and the festive season, with the fairy lights adorning most Hotels and Shopping Malls continue through to Christmas and New Year! I love festivals that are bright, colorful and jolly.

does the wanderer's hut get dressed up for the holidays?
Dec. 13th, 2006 10:09 pm (UTC)
Not so far... possibly this year a tree in front of it will, though...

...wanderers are scatterbrained and never pull themselves together enough to do things like this... and for many years this wanderer wasn't sure she wanted to... but this year, maybe...
