the wanderer's hut, at night

8 pm: wakanomori, home briefly to help out with a church-ly duty, goes back to work
9 pm: Little Springtime is home from choir; the tall one gets home from the dairy department of the local supermarket--everyone but wakanomori eats supper
9:30 pm: asakiyume lies down on the couch
9:30-10:00 pm: healing angel, little springtime, and ninja girl retire to the upstairs--healing angel presumably falls right asleep, as his eyes were drooping; the other two maybe do work or talk for a while. Asakiyume wouldn't know because she's asleep on the couch.
9:30: The tall one starts in on his homework, in the basement, only recently occupied by Asakiyume herself.
12:30: The tall one tells Asakiyume he's going to bed. She wishes him a good night. Upon request, the tall one also brings Asakiyume a blanket.
3:00 ish: Asakiyume gets up and checks LJ, realizes she should have let the poor, terminal computer get some rest. Thinks about doing that fun part of her story, since jmeadows said all is possible, provided you have the skills (hey, jmeadows--how do you like that interpretation of what you said last night?) Hears the car pull up--it's wakanomori
3:15: Waka eats his very late dinner. Really more of an early breakfast. Asakiyume does dishes.
3:30: Asakiyume goes on LJ yet again--Waka gets in bed

so at 4 am, will Asakiyume write a bit on that story, or go back to sleep for an hour or two?

Work until 3 a.m.? That boy needs a life. I mean, I know it's exam time and all, but sheesh! Sleep deprivation alone will make him crazy. Here's how it's done. Open mouth. Say a two-letter word. Smile. Repeat two-letter word as long as necessary. Smiling. And you? Did you get a bit on that story written?

I'm going to be sure he reads this!

I did write a little bit on the story, but I was too sleepy to do it properly, so I went back to bed.

Oh dear...don't want to cause marital strife...or do I? Grins wickedly.

I strife it up pretty well on my own :-P

He'll recognize it as a sensible suggestion, I'm sure :-)

The couch is so cozy! Actually, I like it very much because it's right in the middle of the house, and I feel closer to the kids. If we all slept in one big pile, like dogs, I'd be happiest of all :-) (It's what we did when they were little, but they're too big for that now...)

:-D Yay, we're irresponsible parents together :-D

It's mission-creep, I tell you, not scheduling, that keeps me out late! Sign up to do this and that, and pretty soon it becomes this, that, and the other. And it just gets worse as the semester goes on, like a memory leak in Netscape on Mac OS9. After a while you simply have to quit and reboot -- unless by a miracle (and with a whole lot of help from my friends), the semester is about to end. Maybe, just maybe, I can wrap things up with no more really late nights. Oops, still haven't finished the flag translation job that I took with me to the barber's yesterday, as per schedule. Maybe I can finish it at home though. . .

Last thing Shawn said to me as we were parting, after the DWHA meeting, was "oh... and can you remind your husband about the flag translation..." (I told her you had it on your mind...)
