If we were walking together . . .

Every year I marvel over the tiny flowers of grass. Every year I can't resist taking pictures of them.

grass flowers (Timothy grass, Phleum pratense)

And every year I want to rub soft rabbit-foot clover on my cheek:

rabbit's foot clover

And make crowns of bindweed:

tiny bindweed

And I have nothing to say or tell you about these things, but if you were with me, I'd pull your arm and make you look at them, so here they are.

And then I'd say to you, do you know what I found out about, from khiemtran? Fishing with helium balloons, and before there were helium balloons, fishing with kites! Do you not love it?! I love it. I want to tell Em about fishing with kites.

I would love to walk with you. I love everything you notice.

I knew about kite-fishing, but not fishing with helium balloons.

Did you know about kite fishing? How did you learn? I think it's marvelous.

Grass really is full of magic, isn't it? Especially if it is permitted to just grow, instead of being scraped by lawn mowers constantly (and sunburned)

Yes, it really is.

Summer is such a magical season.

It's my favorite.

How I used to love lying on my stomach out in the back yard looking at the tiny world.

Your comment makes me want to go out and lie on my stomach *right now*.

You have shared so much just with these beautiful pictures and your poetic soul!

My soul sprung a leak a while ago, and I'm not sure how much poetry is left in it, but I'm always glad to share pictures :-)

The ingenuity of those land-based mammals has long been noted. We must come up with an action plan as soon as .... Mmm! That looks like lunch!

Of course, in certain areas opportunistic sharks and giant squid have been known to wait until the fishermen have nearly reeled in their catch--and then they rear up from underneath and topple the boat. Mmmmm! Lunch! Those are the adventurous ones. The lazy ones just wait until Seine nets are full, and then, before the trawler can haul in the net, they slice through it and feast. Delicious and filling, but not as much cachet as wild-caught human.

Whole roadsides of good luck, and no rabbits lose their feet :-)

Are we friends on Facebook? Just posted a series of northern bog photos that you might like. Trish Perkins and you will recognize the photo I think.

Be delighted and unsurprised ^_^

By contrast, I pulled a whole lot of bindweed today.

Of course it is pretty.

It's good if even what troubles us is beautiful, maybe?

I took a walk with you today; you were in my mind, anyhow, if not in my actual presence. :)

This makes me so happy :-)

The tinies are the loveliest, and one of those loveliest has certainly whispered to you, how much I loved to walk there, among them with you.

So glad to have you along <3
