rainy

It's very rainy. I dreamed I was waiting for a hurricane in New Orleans, which was going to fill up like a bowl (this is no doubt because in waking life I heard someone talking about New Orleans filling up like a bowl--comparing it to parts of Mississippi, where the ocean came in but then left again).

This morning I observed: A stack of sodden newspapers. A discarded coppertop battery (retrieved for proper disposal). A bright red matchbox truck (thought about retrieving; left for someone else to find--someone will enjoy finding that). NO savings bank will let you change money there if you don't have an account. At least, the one I tried wouldn't, and I've had that experience once before. So. That's something new I know now.

Also filling up like a bowl is the swamp behind our house. Now there are large silvery patches (= water) in among the yellowed dead undergrowth from last year and the bright green moss and young shoots. I remember this once happening when I was little, and wanting to make a raft. I'll have to go take a look later (but not today as I've already been through two sets of clothes, getting wet). Those patches of water make it look like the swamp is dissolving.

yoshi. Back to work.
