I just wrote 1400-plus words of my story (yay!)
But... it took me two hours (boo!)

At that rate, there is no way I'm going to manage this NaNo stuff. I was only able to write on my story because I had a sudden, very WELCOME, lull from work. Normally I couldn't take two hours out of my day to write (boo!) And NaNo is something like 1600 words a day?

Well, amberdine and heyes, I'm not throwing in the towel before I've even tried--that wouldn't be sporting. But. I'm just observing that the math, well, it doesn't look promising. Much as I complain about work, I do need it to help keep the wanderer's hut in food and heat and so on. But maybe I'll write **faster** for NaNo, right? That's what they say...

And it's true, for my story, for where I am now, I kept checking things against what I'd already written to be sure I was consistent and not repeating myself and so on. Presumably (biiigg presumption) I won't do that for the NaNo story.

Want to know the last lines of what I wrote today? "Ara saw that the men at the table all cast admiring glances at the woman as she made her way toward the head of the table." It's the first twilight person on the scene. They're in the sunset lands now.

Thanks! Those 1400 words still need work... but again, that's something you don't worry about (so I'm told) w/NaNo.

Did you finish Annelise's story? I hope so :-)

The point of NaNo is pretty much to make yourself write faster (and more regularly), not cut more hours out of your day for writing!

If that's your rate when you're writing carefully on a story you care about, you'll do fine with NaNo stuff. :)

So... when are you sending me a chapter? :D

The current chapter is turning monster long--but when I finish it, I'll send you the one before it :-)

(The current chapter will be done when I get the characters to the twilight lands. You know what's hard? Balancing all the STUFF that you want to put in... all the threatening stuff and the wonderful stuff and new information and ... stuff.)

This reminds me of my "I'm going to be a writer" days. Now it's just, "I keep a blog" type of thing.....I do miss it....ever so often.

Wow, 1600 words is an awesome count. And, ya know, 1600*30 = 48,000...

1600 is pretty awesome--but I, alas, only managed 1400 :-( and that took longer than I can probably give to NaNo each day...

Maybe I'll try just typing redrum redrum over and over again--they don't check the *quality* of what you write for NaNo, I don't think...
