In that case, several LJ users should be whistling too! *Evil grin*.

Nice haiku. Does the word "haiku" in itself mean anything?

Yes, the "hai" portion of it means "crazy" or "wild" and the "ku" part means "verse."

It was because the subject matter in a form of linked verse called "haikai" ("haiku" developed from the first verse of a haikai sequence) was much freer and more wide ranging than the subject matter of "official" linked verse (which was called "renga" meaning literally "linked verse" or "linked poem")

Renga verses were on topics like the moon, or frost, or cherry blossoms. Haikai verses could be about sweating, about bedbugs, about a decomposing pumpkin--you get the idea.

You should make a "let's do a renga!" post. :)

I dreamed, last night, that I met a tall husky Scotsman in London that called me "Wee thing" and we fell in love....some where underneath all the pain and suffering caused by the men in my past, there is still hope....I still hear the whistle.

And you are going to England, right? So travel north--perhaps your dream will come true. I like the story of TS Eliot--he had a pretty poor marriage that I think ended in divorce? Or maybe his wife died--anyway, then he was single for a long time--and he was a very uptight guy--but late in life he fell in love with his secretary and they got married and he was SO HAPPY!

So I think it's never, ever too late.

When I read this I kept hearing that old song about catching the midnight train to Georgia. I kept thinking about you driving the little car along night time highways following his train.

I'm a goofball!
