a list

Here are some items

a feather
a stone
a leaf
a page
a blade of new grass
a cloud
a pottery shard
a dream
a sigh

These aren't all things I saw today, though some of them are. They're mainly things that came into my head while I was working. I suddenly have lots and lots of work. Well, ebb and flow. It's good, if stressful. But not having work is stressful too; I guess this is a better sort of stressful--it's successful stressful.

Someone had put some stones across the stream that's the border of the undiscovered country, just enough to slightly dam it up, so it made a little lake right there. The water still flowed through, and I kind of liked the overall effect, plus I thought it would probably discourage ATVs, but maybe not--not much discourages them. Then the other day, someone else had moved the stones away, so now the stream is the way it was before. It's funny to see this disagreement about how the stream should be--the actors are all invisible, the effect is only evident in the flowing of the stream. It's funny to realize that although whenever I'm in the undiscovered country, I'm there by myself, other people go there too, and have their own feelings about it.

Hey, no fair. How am I supposed to swipe your posts for story ideas if I have to think for myself, too? Darnit! :D

What's the dream?
Why the sigh?
Say what you mean,

Sorry, please don't throw anything at me. I don't get the urge to do that often, thank goodness. It's passed now...you're safe for a while.

Anyway, I liked the "O Fili et filiae".
If you read sheet music at all here's what your clip looks like notated.

Still, I'm intrigued about dreams and sighs...is the sigh because the dream didn't come true? Ha--"Dreams and Sighs"...sounds like a Bergman movie

Thanks for the link to the sheet music--there is an old paperback hymnal tossing about somewhere here that also has the music in it. I have been known to ask to hear it on occasion!

I don't know what the dream and the sigh are--except for attractive, freighted words. Maybe later I'll make up a story or a poem using those words, or maybe I'll write another list. Meanwhile you and others will be making up your own stories with dreams and sighs and clouds and pottery shards in them--maybe.

I like that list. Another synch--I was working on a song by Heyes today that has a part about pottery shards in it. Do you want to write a song? I will write an email soon. Peace, Nancy

Cool about the song with Heyes! I love our synchronicities.

I'm thinking I can't manage a song just now, but if any of our exchanges inspires you to music, feel free--I love writing in response to your poems; they inspire me, and it's fun to be creating with you.

Yes somehow maybe there will be a song out of the comments. I will let you know. I am going to attempt the tanka one too. It will be weird timing maybe. Maybe we can do an add-on too sometime just for fun and see what happens.

Yes the synchronicities are real nice.

Ah, I'm sighing with you. It's so true about the ebb/flow of work. My job is just now starting to go through a slow period and after weeks of "flowing", I'm thrilled to have nothing to do.

Interesting little soap opera with the stream vs. the dam! Personally, I vote for the stream. :)
