A day in doodles

These are awesome.

Speaking of doodles, I found some portraits I did on Twitter.

And speaking of tattoos, I don't know if you saw that long entry I posted last week, I describe a few tattoos there.

*checks time*
Yesterday, I saw people with the following tattoos: a stone dagger set against a circular swirl of colors, hearts on the ankle, some writing.
an anthropomorphic representation of the crescent moon, living in harmony with the colorful giant space bugs orbiting it.
A monarch butterfly, conveniently labeled "butterfly"
A skull.

I saw someone with a dagger embroidered on a baseball cap, with flames coming from it. I wonder if it means anything.

A monarch butterfly, conveniently labeled "butterfly" --that sounds like a tattoo artists who's lacking in confidence. Like when a kid shows a drawing to a parent and the parent says, "It's ... lovely!" and so then the kid quickly says, "This is Baymax, and this is Hiro, and..." and then the parent says "Ooooh, yes! Yes I see! Oh, very good! I like how you did the, the eyes!" And then the kid feels satisfied.

I did read your last week entry, the long one, but I was making notes of things I wanted to comment on, and then I got called away from my desk, and then life happened. When you have really long entries on a lot of different things, I always feel lame just commenting on one thing, but then it really delays my actually leaving *any* comment.

Are the portraits in your Twitter feed?

Yes, awesome entry, and you threw your ()message-in-a-bottle}=o, trustingly, into the ocean of humanity for special delivery to another curious rambler to spot, and to pick-up, and to marvel.

Yes! I liked the human-to-human transmission method.

How talented you are! Not only can you create beautiful doodles to illustrate your day story, but you can balance on a slackline, too. How cool!

I love that you were able to deploy your bottle with the help of a stranger. That seems so...wonderful. :)

I *hardly* balanced on the slackline... it was literally just two seconds. But it's a start!
Thanks for the kind remarks about the doodles :-)

And yeah, I was glad I worked up the guts to talk to someone! I can imagine doing it, but it's harder to actually do it than my imagination lets on.

Interesting doodles, but also an interesting voice - very easy to read. If this was a novel, I'd want to read more.

And here I was thinking it sounded like the diary I kept in 4th grade: nothing but short, declarative sentences. My internal critic is telling me I need to vary my sentence length :-P But on the other hand, I'm really glad that it was easy and fun to read! The day was fun :-)

You remind me that I need to move the tiny Tabacso bottles I brought to Spain at Chun Woo's request from Sheeyun's suitcase to my purse.
Jun. 14th, 2015 07:01 pm (UTC)
Are they filled with real tabasco sauce? Some tiny bottles are purely decorative, as I discovered once to my embarrassment.

(Asakiyume on a slackline)

That's great.

I love your day in doodles. I would read more.

Maybe I'll do it again sometime. The girls (i.e., my daughters) do a thing sometimes: hourly comics. It's a thing artists on Tumblr do: you draw a little doodle for each hour of the day for one day. I've thought that sounds fun.

What a fun way to share your day! It sounds like a fun and interesting day, too. :)
Jun. 14th, 2015 07:08 pm (UTC)
It was an excellent day!

Sean... :( Thinking about them all, whoever they may be, and Sean, whichever way it went.

I liked the happy dog very much. :)
Jun. 14th, 2015 07:08 pm (UTC)
I was thinking about that too, as I stood behind her in line. Was it a boyfriend? A brother? A husband? It's sad...

The dog was clearly having a fabulous day.
Jun. 14th, 2015 03:22 pm (UTC)
Sounds like a really excellent day.
Jun. 14th, 2015 03:23 pm (UTC)
Looks like it, too.

Magical doodles and day.
What an awesome photo.

Excellent day, you multi-talented being, you.
Jun. 14th, 2015 07:12 pm (UTC)
Not multi-talented, but definitely multi... enthusiastic? It's a fun way to live.

It really was an excellent day.

Have I shared this with you before? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru9HKDRqxnk&feature=em-upload_owner

I've meant to, if I haven't. :P

(this is the "midan" just down the road from our apartment where we sometimes go for, ahem, fresh air)

ETA: Oh! And look! There is our car, which we no longer have. GRRRR. Bon, just ignore that and laugh at the video.

I WAS THINKING OF YOU GUYS! Oh man, how can you do it so well? HOW CAN YOU.

I'm going to have to get one. I've always wanted to be able to do it.

PS no, you never have, and I **love** it. Love seeing you move around. THE BEST!

I'm so happy to see a doodle post from you. I always love your knack for capturing expression and attitudes.

Really nice to see your picture walking on the line thing. Also liked the doodles, but I'd call them sketches. They were good.
Jun. 18th, 2015 04:48 am (UTC)
I'm glad you liked the drawings--I had fun making them. As for the slackline, I *wish* I had walked on it. All I did was balance on it for a moment, alas. But maybe one day I'll get one and practice up.

A very, very "lucky fish" is going to pick *Pen Pal* out of the Little Free Library. And considering how random life is, something very wonderful may come of it.

I hope so! Plant a lot of seeds, and maybe a few will flower, right?
