Great shot! I must go down to see if the trees in Stanley Park are in bloom this weekend. :)
A friend made a needle out of a Hawthorn thorn for me. It's one of my most prized possessions!
You know--but I'm going to have to edit the entry. There **is** hawthorn in bloom right now... but I think this is not hawthorn after all... the leaves are wrong. I think it's a pin cherry :-(
I feel like a bit of an idiot now. Must fix entry.
I can see from your edit that it's easy to confuse them! Mother Nature, she is a tricky one. :)
Lovely...like snow in summer...I have never seen (or identified, to be precise) this plant...
It's very pretty, and it grows wild, which I love.
I wish I got as much use out my digital camera as you do. :)
Carry it along with you--then you have it if you want it. I wear mine like a necklace. (sooo stylish)
I think I need to get a protective covering for it. Right now, I just keep it in a small sleeve of my backpack (and I still forget to take pictures!)

It's really pretty... (mmmm, cherries).
The blossoms smell like honey :-)

Mmmmm, honey 'n cherries! Mmmmmmmmm!
Lovely photos. I hope Molly the dog will consent someday to having her picture taken. I've seen her footprints and part of her tail.
Oh, I have a cute video of her digging in a hole on a walk--let me upload it. I'll leave another response here when it's up.

Thank you! You are too gracious. :)
Molly the Truffle dog? France next, perhaps Oregon?

Oh dear.
Beautiful.. lovely flowers. These images made my day :)
hurray! The spring blossoms are so wonderful.
Lovely! I see how you could make that mistake. I look forward to all the mistakes I'll make as I learn entire new bioregions' flora and fauna! ;)
Right now, I wouldn't know a Hawthorne from a hole in the ground. ;)
But next year? Heh. Just you wait. !
I expect you to be a northeastern herbalist wise woman in a year's time :D
Might take me a couple three years before I really feel "at home," but yeah, that's my goal.
Within my first year of living in Tucson, I knew more about the local flora and fauna than most natives/locals. And most of it, I'd never encountered before.
Now I have to do a massive "brain dump" and make room in there for all this northeastern botany!
Lovely photos of lovely flowers whether they be May Hawthorn or Pin Cherry.
BTW, I found you thru my friend travelertrish, and her friends susan_s, villager9999 and love your comments & blog entries. Do you mind if I add you to my friends'list?
Thank you! By all means do add me :-)
You've got some very excellent friends there in Traveler Trish, Suzan, and Villager 9999! Wonderful people all (though only Trish have I met in person).
If the hawthorn is the gateway to the Fair Folk's realm, it may bloom in disguise.
♥ I love you, Seajules :-) Your comment is VERY YES!!
Maybe morning dew collected from a golden tree might allow you to see it better. *G*
You say "Hawthorne," I think "Nathanael."
He wrote surname-appropriate stories.
